The Codeslinger is a site by a programmer and technology enthusiast rambling on about code, media, technology, computers, games, and whatever comes to mind. It’s mainly about things that are associated with the society group labeled “Nerds”, which is a term I do not like. I prefer “Enthusiast”. It has a more positive connotation, in my opinion.
Update 01.01.2026
With the start of 2026, I started using this page as the written counterpart to my gaming-focused YouTube channels The Gameslinger EN and The Gameslinger DE. Over time, coding has shifted from a hobby and a job to just a job, and Gaming has become the only creative outlet that can grab my attention in my spare time. See this blog post for more information.
End Update 01.01.2026
The name is inspired by Stephen King’s fantastic series of novels about Roland of Gilead on his quest for the Dark Tower. The first novel in this 8-book series is called The Gunslinger, and later in his books, Stephen King refers to himself as the wordslinger. Codeslinger builds on this idea, only in the context of a programmer rather than a book author.
This site will host a lot of content that was previously available on Blogger under the “typical nerd” label. Over time, however, this name has been associated with gaming more than anything else, especially on YouTube. So don’t be surprised if you accidentally run across something here that you’ve maybe already seen on the Blogger site.
